Bjugstad in 2011-2012 scoring in a game versus UND
The Minnesota Gopher's top goal scorer from 2011-2012 has made his decision on where he'll spend the upcoming season, returning to Minneapolis to play with the Gophers. Nick Bjugstad spent the last week at the Florida Panthers development camp weighing his options on playing professionally or returning to Minnesota for another shot at a National Championship. Bjugstad had a breakout season in 2011-2012, scoring 25 goals and adding 17 assists for 42 points while helping the Gophers to the Frozen Four. With Erik Haula, Kyle Rau, Nate Schmidt, and Zach Budish also returning, the Gophers return much of their scoring and should be a top 5 team in the Nation, and the favorite in the WCHA to start the year. Bjugstad played between Rau and Budish in 2011-2012, a line that had undeniable chemistry and should stay in tact for this season. With the news of Bjugstad staying, Gopher Hockey fans have a lot to be excited about.
